Awards
Here at Chelston Decorators we pride ourselves on the quality and professionalism of our work and our staff, and are always looking to further improve wherever possible by gaining accreditations and charter marks from various health and safety and industry bodies.
Some of the accreditations and certifications that we have gained over the years are listed here below, we hope that this helps to give our customers both old and new a little extra peace of mind!
Construction Skills Certification Scheme
CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do on site. By ensuring that the workforce are appropriately qualified?the card plays its part in improving standards and safety on UK construction sites.
Holding a CSCS card is not a legislative requirement. It is entirely up to the principal contractor or client whether workers are required to hold a card before they are allowed on site. However, most principal contractors and major house builders require construction workers on their sites to hold a valid card.
CSCS is a not-for-profit limited company. Its directors are from employer organisations and unions representing the breadth of the industry. The Scheme’s application processing and contact centre is delivered under contract by CITB.
United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association
UKATA is a leading authority on asbestos training, a not for profit association established in 2008 with a set purpose in mind: to be recognised as the asbestos industry’s most eminent training association.
UKATA is instantly recognised and respected for the exacting standards in asbestos training delivered by its Members in accordance with current HSE Legislation.
UKATA is committed to both maintaining and improving higher standards of asbestos training through ongoing monitoring of UKATA-approved training providers.
Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme
SSSTS is an accredited CITB course for construction site supervisors. The SSSTS course is a nationally recognised safety qualification and it is now a requirement set out by many major contractor groups for all supervisors working on site.
The SSSTS CITB Course is attended by thousands of delegates every year across the country and is endorsed by the UK Contractors Group as the standard training for all supervisors on UKCG sites.

PASMA
PASMA is the organisation that knows mobile towers, and cares about the people who use them.
Founded in 1974, the Prefabricated Access Suppliers? and Manufacturers? Association (PASMA), is the recognised focus and authority for mobile access towers. PASMA advances safety, standards and best practice across a wide range of sectors and represents the interests of its members in the UK, South Africa, South East Asia and the Middle East.

IPAF
The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment worldwide in the widest sense – through providing technical advice and information; through influencing and interpreting legislation and standards; and through safety initiatives and training programmes.

RPE Fit Testing
Where RPE is used, it must be able to provide adequate protection for individual wearers. RPE can’t protect the wearer if it leaks. A major cause of leaks is poor fit; tight-fitting facepieces need to fit the wearer’s face to be effective.
As people come in all sorts of shapes and sizes it is unlikely that one particular type or size of RPE facepiece will fit everyone. Fit testing will ensure that the equipment selected is suitable for the wearer.
